Perhaps someone is playing a joke on Russell Crowe, but in his Australian office he was trying to record fruit bats outside his window when he captured several odd frames of something which he is claiming is not a reflection from inside his office, but something strange outside his window. UFO, orb, or just strange?

Here is an article where Crowe answers some questions about the pictures. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2289042/Russell-Crowe-spots-UFO-Les-Mis-star-tweets-picture-close-encounter-mysterious-light-sky.html#ixzz2Mn8Ho8bs

It also includes some nasty comments from fans. It looks like he got a lot of criticism for this.

I applaud his willingness to even show such material to the general public and it's indicating to us that he does believe that the UFO phenomenon is real. I've read a few articles on this and even though there are those usual naysayer's out there, I have also seen many responders commenting about their own UFO sightings on those news pages too. One thing for sure though, it's never a bad thing for someone like Crowe to come out and talk publicly about UFO's within their own experiential context as this certainly does boost up public awareness of the phenomenon.

The pictures are becoming very dubious. From http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-57573055-71/russell-crowe-claims-to-see-ufo-after-no-one-sees-his-movie/

Today, though, Crowe's manager, Grant Vandenberg, revealed to the Telegraph that the great star hadn't shot the exciting events at all.
This was the work of Duane Manwiller, a famed cinematographer. Oh, and it was shot four years ago.
One can imagine that, on hearing this, the Australian government put into reverse its anti-alien missile preparations.

At least we know that UFOs are still a hot topic.

Here is the actual article from The Telegraph http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/russell-crowe-captures-ufo-on-camera-at-sydneys-botanical-gardens/story-e6frewyr-1226591727973

It seems to me that someone like Duane Manwiller, a famed cinematographer, would have known if that UFO showing up in his footage was only a 'reflection' and so on.

I mean, think about it, a famous cinematographer is not going to jeapordize his career and his own credibility in the field of photography by trying to pass off footage of a UFO unless he was completely convinced that that's what it really was/is. We can assume that he knows all about photographic artifacts, after-effects and etc... of every sort which means that everything was ruled out prior to the public release of that footage.

And Marc D'Antonio's interview with TMZ on what he thinks it is. http://m.tmz.com/2013/03/10/russell-crowe-ufo-video-expert-mufon-mutual-ufo-network/
His interview was done before he saw the above video and he didn't know about the area it was seen in. Marc now also believes it was the mast of a sailboat.
