Googled this recentlly, became intrigued and had to get book from library. A little off the UFO track admittedly but I found it interesting and a mite scary. It took place in Grand Rapids-25 miles outside of Detroit- and a teenager was attempting to build a breeder reactor in His Backyard shed. Possibly contaminated 40,000 neighbouring residents but at time it was all secret. Recommend this highly as It is a brain activator. Meant to add it took place in late 80s.
