UFO?

http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/3338/m12712.jpg

No, tall radio antenna array with six wired tether, in the Western Australia's Badgingarra National Park.
There is a ground-level enclosure. It has a fence around it, thus the wildlife and cattle cannot get in and graze, so the vegetation grows better there, and the ground is not disturbed, and so it appears darker than the surrounding terrain.
The triangular shape mirrors the outline of the six wires (the bright spots are where the wires are anchored to the ground)

U.F.O Bizarre clouds filmed over Moscow. October 2009 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOWyZUI8a0g#)

http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/1291/halo2v.jpg

No, very uncommon cloud formation called "hole-punch clouds".
They are usually caused when an aircraft intersects altocumulus or cirrocumulus clouds.

Altocumulus are high-altitude clouds, usually white or gray in color, that occur in sheets or patches. Cirrocumulus also are high-altitude clouds made up of supercooled liquid water droplets and ice crystals.

An airplane passing through a mixed cloud layer while ascending or descending could disrupt the delicate coexistence between the ice crystals and the supercooled liquid water droplets, causing a hole to be punched in the sky.

Small-scale atmospheric movements, both up and down, caused by the jet stream, could cause a similar phenomenon.

http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/4260/sprite3engh.jpg

http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/5849/sprites.jpg

This may look like a flying saucer of movie fame, but it’s really an atmospheric phenomenon called a “sprite.” Sprites appear 35 to 80 miles above the earth’s surface; they can be set off when the lightning from a thunderstorm (only 7 to 10 miles high) excites the electric field farther up in the atmosphere. Though they appear above most thunderstorms, they appear so briefly—less then a second—and so high up that it’s not so shocking that they weren’t discovered until 1989. Like other similar phenomena called “elves,” “trolls” and “goblins,” sprites dance in the sky and are thought to be the source of some UFO sightings.

This is sometimes called the world's oldest UFO picture.

77

It is not an UFO, it is in fact an object lying in the snow (probably a wooden ruler placed there to show the scale of the terrain). The photo one of a stereo pair in a collection called "Views Taken On The Summit Of Mt. Washington During The Winter Of 1870 - 71", and the stereo pair is listed as number 17:

78

This is number 17, described in the list above as showing "Frost architecture":

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/9127/dsc5510t.jpg

http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/2434/dsc5511m.jpg

This weird effect is due to (with a 2s exposure and a 3.5 aperture value) the operator taking the still shoot during the first part of the exposure (allowing then the ambient low light to impress the ccd sensor) and then put down its camera during the second part of the exposure, while the shutter is still open but on close process (allowing the higher lights to continue to impress the ccd sensor).
The dot aspect is due to the light frequency (50Hz) invisible to the naked eyes, but not for the cameras.
In the samples above, some lights appears to have this 'dot effect' while some haven't, this is because the streetlamp light use discharge lamps with sodium vapor (yellow / orange) or mercury vapor (white / blue) which produce, regularly and at a define frequency, electric arcs in the middle of a gas, which ionizes and then produces light. The headlights lights of cars aren't produced this way (an incandescent tungsten filament that haven't the time to cool down to show any flicker) and gives a continue line in these samples.

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/6454/space119cd03.jpg

No, zenithal light pillar:

Light pillars are a kind of optical phenomenon which is formed by the reflection of sunlight or moonlight by ice crystals that are present in the Earth's atmosphere.

The light pillar looks like a thin column that extends vertically above and/or below the source of light. The light pillar is prominently visible when the Sun is low or lies below the horizon. It normally forms an arc that extends from five to ten degrees beyond the solar disc. Light pillars can sometimes also be seen arising from the Moon.

Light pillars are formed by reflection from ice crystals with roughly horizontal faces.

http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/1300/lp3q.png

It can also be created by artificial lights:

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/5599/pillarstapebig.jpg

Full explanations at atoptics (http://www.atoptics.co.uk/halo/lpil.htm)
Pillars to the zenith here (http://www.atoptics.co.uk/halo/pilpic22.htm)

The lights are a form of light pillar and are produced by flat plate shaped ice crystals in layers of ice fog above the city.

Why do the lines of light converge on the zenith?
The diagram at right shows rays from just one nearby city light shining upwards onto crystals at different heights.

Only crystals on a column roughly midway between the light and the observer give a reflection into the eye because the small crystal mirrors are nearly horizontal and the incident and reflected rays must make equal angles to the crystal faces.

The higher the crystal, the more closely does the reflected ray come from the direction of the zenith. Therefore, when there is a cloud of crystals, their reflections appear as a line of light that points directly overhead, the zenith.

Why are the lines broken?
That night there must have been several layers of crystals at different heights over the city with zones in between them either without ice crystals or with crystals that were not specially oriented.

Nope, light aircraft at a lower altitude and a lower speed + parallax due to the high difference between the speed difference of the two planes:

http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/5442/a110m.jpg

Red: apparent move on the video
Blue: apparent move due to parallax (the observer's plane flies to the right)
Green: the apparent displacement due to the light aircraft's own move.

Hi majicbar,

You're right, my samples are rather only short contrails lit by the sun rise, planes cleaning out tanks will gives for the contrail this appearance:

I recall this as being the result of a meteor, which given the very large proportion of vapor in the resulting "contrail" would indicate that it was likely more a mini comet being destroyed at the end in the large cloud at the end. Supposedly this type is more common than thought, but this is the first photo that I've seen of the phenomena. One worry over this type of meteor is that it has been seen on military satellites that were designed to find nuclear explosions and missile launches, the larger ones could if they lasted longer leave a Tunguska like explosion and large scale devastation.
