Two days ago, dozens of people witnessed a UFO over Miraflores, one of the suburbs of Lima, Peru.

This video was shot by TV producer Eduardo Chavez.

What do you think?

This is one of those that I wonder why they didn't show the object until it did, well, something. I mean the vid just cut away with the object just floating there. I mean ya can't say the guy didn't have the resources to film it for days if necessary.

In my mind i'm goin "oh well, the things you can do with mylar superglue and a some helium."

Yes, a Balloon occurred to me too.
It would help to know the weather conditions for that date. ie Calm Winds (CW)?
The object appears to be holding steady, no easy feat if the wind is blowing.

Good point about the brevity.... did not consider that.

Winds for Lima, Peru for February 10, 2015 were South, 9 mph maximum, 17 mph.

Green banner on building seems to have wind twisting it, which may mean that the view is to the North. Depending on the size of the object, it would then be blown by the wind away from the camera's position. A balloon should also exhibit a twisting if anchored to the ground and if free floating it should oscillate as it is moving, unless it is larger and heavier more like a drone. It is too bad that the time is so short.

Open Minds has an article on it:

I've been told there are more clips. If I come across them, I'll post them here.

I had been thinking of the same points you've made. My first thoughts about the winds was that perspective relative to wind direction as you point out could be highly relevant. Time of day would be nice to know that way we could now with certainty wind direction. I as you assume the sun is to the west of the observers perspective, though the object looks to be moving very slowly the right.

Another thought I have had is that wind speed can vary a great deal with altitude.

Also weights suspended by mono filament below from a ridged frame could give the object a great deal of stability as long as what winds there be are not too turbulent.

Looking at the view of the city at 0:39 in theatre mode, as I see it the Sun is mostly overhead, but the shadows seem to indicate the Sun is slightly to camera's left, again assuming we are looking Northward, this would indicate the time as 12:30 to 1:00, or so.

Ryan Washington posted this on FB.

It's the results of the MUFON Peru investigation of the case. So far, they can't identify it and it remains open.
