View Full Version : Mysterious city over the skies of China

According to the story several hundred people saw this over China. Is this a mirage? A Reflection? Blue beam? Or a rip in dimensions? If that was the case why would there be a city in the sky(Doc brown ala Back to the future pop's in my head, "Your not thinking 4th Dimensionally") Perhaps there is an overlay of worlds or dimensions and perhaps positioning so we might be seeing is of another world or parallel earth but just in a different position in spacial terms. Who knows but it is quite interesting.

Most likely it is a mirage that can be explained scientifically.

The original footage is from an Italian CGI hoax channel. There are a lot of those coming up suddenly. About 2 months ago, they started spamming / flooding Facebook.

I'll have to add them to the Fake news channels thread.

Did 100's of people 'actually' report this? Or is that false also?

That's false, too.

It's a common MO, nowadays, to make these false claims. Who in Italy would know about what is going on in China?
They're not interested in truth. They're interested in page views, because that's how they generate money.
Similarly, there are videos and photos, e.g., of UFOs over Cape Town that are just bad copy and paste work, that never happened here in reality.
Yet if you read the story, it supposedly was all over the news. Except that it wasn't.

I would never believe that such "mirages" like this are possible had I not seen one myself over Lake Erie one time just before a very active electrical storm was moving into that area. A large area of the clouds broke open and there to my wondrous eyes appeared a heavenly scene of what looked like a village sitting at the bottom of a panoramic mountain scene with a brightly shining light behind it. It was so beautiful, it took my breath away. I just stood there and gazed at it for several minutes before the opening closed. It was like a window that had opened into another world.

Then a few years later, I read how a mirage showing another world was experienced by some researchers at Skinwalker Ranch. It was just one of several paranormal events that had occurred during their stay on that ranch. When I read that, I then realized that my own experience of seeing that other world open up in the sky over the lake is not an unknown phenomenon. I love verification's like that as it's just a reminder to us that there's a common thread that runs through most paranormal phenomena, that being that whatever one experiences, most likely, other's out there have experienced the same kind of thing before too. So we are not alone in our experiences hence why it's so important to share them so that others can compare notes to whatever kinds of experiences they have had too.

Oh, so that photo is a hoax? Just took the time to read all of the posts in this thread but Garuda is correct, that story was not "all over the news" or I would have known about it prior to seeing this thread on it.
But as for the phenomenon itself? It's real.

Most certainly a hoax. Hoaxes of this nature harm efforts and work done by genuine researchers, and makes real evidence easier to discard by the public.

There is a Biblical reference of a city in space measuring 1,500 miles square. I suspect that such a city does exist.

So, it would be pretty enormous. Though it is described as descending from possibly another dimension or perhaps physical "space"? (unknown)

I believe at least that one exists, like you mentioned.

But this one is just a plain hoax in my book.

Keep in mind, Garuda has already identified this one in particular as a CGI hoax, so there is no merit (IMO) to think more on this particular topic.

It wasn't exactly debunked.

I am still on the fence as to the authenticity of the video, but here are some examples of "superior" mirages or "Fata Morgana ("superior" means the mirage is seen above the horizon) to help you better understand what is being discussed:

The following is a famous mirage (which caused a reflection of the city to float above the bay) that appeared off the shore of Penglai City in eastern China's Shandong Province on Sunday, May 7, 2005.

In the case of fata morgana's, the mirages are seen inverted and not right side up.

The mirage recently seen in China is not a "fata morgana".

Here's an example of a fata morgana. It's showing one of boats on the water. As we can see, the boats are upside down and inverted.

Here's another fata morgana. This one was on Lake Superior:

Here's another one... this on one the sea:

Technically, it is possible to see the image as being right side up too… as in a combination of upside down and right side up, which can be overlaid in numerous ways.

Here is an example where you see the boat at the bottom, and inverted image in the middle and an upright image on top:

And where the land floating up in the sky as a mirror image of itself... as a right side up image sitting on an upside down image:

So they can be seen right side up too? Thanks, just wondering about that because everything I was finding on fata morgana said and showed the mirages to be upside down. Very confusing. lol

And thanks for those links! :)

I noticed that too. The graphics of the original show with a close up, up high, seen from down below 'increased' perspective, as though they were higher buildings and seen from way below them.

If its a fake, no problem. If this might have been an actual event, that would be pretty wild. Like, whats going on here? We should be studying that 'if' it 'did' occur.

Its so dang hard to tell what is real these days with the amazing talent of people in creating high realism CG art. Movies depict such events with complete realism. Very difficult to tell what you are looking at these days.

Marvin

Again, I am not an advocate for the video being authentic... the CGI out there today can be very, very convincing.

I am not a weather expert either... but looking at all of the real photos of this kind of phenomenon, I can't help but notice that none of the mirages are seen in clouds (the sky appears to be basically cloud free in the area of the mirage). Due to the physics of bending light, there may be a good reason for the absence of mirages in clouds... but this is only speculation on my part. The brief video I have seen just does not show enough evidence to fully understand what is going on (for example, where is the location of the sun relative to the camera). I am sure it is just a matter of time for the answer to be revealed (by folks who are smarter than me).

I've been looking for the original version of this report, and, thus far, the oldest version I can find is indeed the one on the Paranormal Crucible, published on 13 October.

The Paranormal Crucible is a known CGI hoax channel on YouTube, operated by Stephen Hannard.
(He also runs the ADG and ADG UK channels).

I've contacted friends in China and Hong Kong, and this wasn't in the TV news at all when this was supposed to have happened (i.e. 11 days ago, or soon after).

I'm not sure the Paranormal Crucible is the sole origin.

The first time I encountered the video was a link on Facebook to an Italian fake news web site, and within hours it was copied on other fake news web sites, while no reliable news outlet had it. Then some days later, the story went viral.

But I still don't know which video is the original. I'm still looking for that one.

While this description (translated from Chinese?) describes in some details where the report comes from. Allegedly it is reported to be from "Jiangxi Province and Foshan". It appears to contain the original video, possibly with reference headers. (Unsure as of yet)

Edit: Nevermind, the channel appears to be an aggregator.

This one is earlier by three days, makes reference to the area being "the mainland, Foshan, Guangdong".

The translated text reads "Foshan appear mirage", apparently clearly identified as a mirage. (Ruan Ziming
Foshan mirage)

Preliminary Conclusion, "Media Hype, not facts were utilized?", "No parallel dimensional portals were hurt during the making of this footage?".

I used the "vectors method" to find the original (or as close to it).

It's not a hoax Marvin (on the other hand, quite frankly, it's impossible to tell yet, I still think it's authentic but just my own gut feeling about it) but I strongly suspect that the "mirages" that came after that at other locations that are in the news or wherever, are otherwise (copycat cases).

And once again, the floating city shows up again in a new location, not upside down, and this time shining on its underside against a setting sun.
