The Hubble and Spitzer telescopes have photographed a galaxy that is 12.9 billion light years away. It is said to be the brightest object ever seen at such a distance. http://www.space.com/14022-rare-galaxy-dawn-time-universe-photo.html

Looking at the picture of this galaxy makes me wonder how it has developed over these 12.9 billion years. How many suns and planets like our own, have developed and flourished? How many civilizations have travelled into space and how many of their citizens have found their way here?

Amazing. Nearly like looking back at the dawn of creation/time.
More like a time machine than a telescope!

Amazing what we are learning with telescopes in space.
