Story goes like this: There was a picture of an yellow lizard alien posted to 4chan/x (conspiracy board). It got deleted fast, alongside every repost and followed with fast bans. After few low-quality fakes, now someone is leaking "pieces of the original, as it is only way to get through the censorship" to put together on the previously saved thumbnail-image. Appears as arg/meme building and hooking audience by revealing a mystery bit by bit, but well, so you know if you come accross it.

Good details on that skin. I'll update the pic as they appear.

Thanks for sharing Arkki.
Are you the one Photoshopping the pieces together?

We have a few members who do photo analysis. Whatever original pieces can be shared may help with evaluation of fake vs real.

Here's the original... did a look up on the image. It was created in a 3d rendering program. Found it at that forum.

Could have been created in a 2d rendering program too. It's saying that it's a screenshot so it must be a screenshot from a video somewhere.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Here's my own reptilian rendering I did several years back for Freaking News. :biggrin2: A Reptilian-Hybrid baby.

Not very good. Needless to say, I post under another handle there now.

I've always thought this photo of an alien-like being that was captured by a mod at David Icke's forum was a good one. She has her own website and forum too. This is how they usually show up in our photos or video's. Most of the time they only show a part of their face and sometimes they look like they are peeping behind a corner, like this one, or an object in the room. They usually look interdimensional too.

BTW, not a bad 3D rendering at all. Perfect for 3D animations and mobile games.

Saw the final pic today as well. Not bad at all. The sky-reflection on the skin felt too sharp, reminded me of the reflections in a app that I've been working on last weeks.. No wonder this got attention, it representes kind "holy grail" of alien pics: sharp, high-res close up in bright daylight. Bit similar as those round-drone like ufo pics of 2007 with that fancy font.

Calkid: Nah, I just copied what I found in the forum. Someone else did the puzzle piecing. Here is one collection of them: https://imgur.com/a/Wgy7w

This one most likely is from a pre-made 3D model of an alien that's been tweaked/modified, textured and painted in Zbrush or Mudbox. There are gobs of 3D models of aliens out there and many of them are free. The embossed reptile skin can be added with a click of a button in either one of those programs. They also adjust the lighting too.

Also, whatever kind of 3D model you're working with, be it human, beast or alien, they've even got software programs for you to design your own clothes for them. The best one is here: http://www.marvelousdesigner.com/

A lot of 3D models of any sort also come with their own clothes that can be purchased separately.

Ha, have to give that one a go. Been meaning to try it for some time now, waiting for a project where it would become useful.
Were I to analyze it, I think the most clear problem is lighting - seems different for the object and background, too many dark spots with that bright background, not enough indirectional light. The normal mapping is good and not symmetrical. You can almost see in the detail picture that the bumps would actually effect the silhouette, and then that would take relief mapping or some such, but is not so clear that it couldn't be made with normal maps. Also, in the detail pic, could be artifacts, but looks like as moisture condensation or very small dirt specles/bumps are added on top of the texture, visible with the rimlight. The model appears very meshsmoothed, expect the scuplts of the throat region. Another giveaway is the blending of the scaled and not-scaled regions - scales fade in from nothing, like when texture painting with a wet brush.

Edit: If you zoom in to chin, the scales seem to bump the silhouette. So not a low-res model with normal mapping, that takes high-res sculpt or using newer shaders, with tessalation displacement.

I did my analysis of that head and it looks like it was created in a 2D editor.... It was pieced together like a collage in a 2D editor. As for the head itself, it looks like it was pasted onto the background and one can even see white pixels that were not cleanly cut off from the original image in one section of it. The channel analysis is indicating a total disconnect between the head and the neck too.

Not ruling out that the person who put this image together used someone else's image of a 3d rep. head and simply cut it out from the original background and stuck onto a new background. There are strong indications of this.

I ran some other tests too and those ones also indicated that that head was pasted onto that background. So, to me, that raises a lot of red flags.

But the question was... is the rep. in the image real or a fake? It's a fake. It's not a real rep. It's a picture of a digital puppet. lol

That arrow on that image was pasted onto that image too.

Just having fun... wanted to see how that head translates to a different kind of composition.
