What do you think? Feel any of this might be valid? Or is rumor mill news a "scare tactic" website? Personally, I think there might be something to it.

EQ? Worse? "My FEMA friends 'will be gone' for some time"-- posted yesterday

Topic started on 17-2-2012 @ 04:43 PM by Vinny5036

I have two friends who both work for FEMA here in Illinois. I periodically touch base with them to see what's going on in the state and in the nation. These guys have worked all over from 9/11 to Katrina to Joplin tornadoes this past year. Both of these guys I have know for about 9 years now and have always been on the up and up with me.

In past meetings they've always said that if they deemed it necessary, no matter what, they would care enough to tell their closest friends and family if something was coming down the pipe.

Well, yesterday I stopped by to chat for a bit while out and about. I seriously don't want to give too many clues to whom they may be. There are things I could mention that if the right person where to pick up on this, they would be found without a doubt. In any case, we were standing in the kitchen shooting the bull and I asked them " don't you guys get enough of each other at work that you hang out when your home too..?"

They told me they were leaving tonight for "some time" down to the Illinois-Missouri-Tennessee area. I asked them what was going on and was told that if what happens that they think is going to happen, it's going to be a big quagmire. They said that they've been training for many months on the fault zone of New Madrid and that it could happen sooner than later.

I got this big lump in my throat. "So a big earthquake possibly?" He said if this thing "breaks loose" like they've predicted, it will bring massive casualties to big cities in the midwest including Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, Louisville, etc. Natural gas pipelines will rupture causing uncontrolled fires along with several nuke plants taking massive damage as well. They said that the massive chaos could be enough to declare a Marshal Law situation. Many communications will be down so the panic of not knowing whats going on will cause widespread looting and disorder. The power grid will certainly be affected as well.

This is my first thread, so please folks, what do you think about this?? I trust these guys 110% because they're very good friends and they're family men. They really don't even like the government that they work for.

I left they're very frightened and tense. I have no reason to believe ever that they would make this up. They're straight up people, they just work for the wrong side. Does anyone think there is any validity to the subject besides myself? Any threads lately backing what they're claiming??

Please, go easy on me, I'm not a fear mongerer, just a father and a husband who cares about his family and the people that surround me.

There was an earthquake early on the 21st, as reported by Victor Martinez:

These maps show the predicted (theoretical) travel times, in minutes, of the compressional (P) wave from the earthquake location to points around the globe. The travel times are computed using the spherically-symmetric IASP91 reference earth velocity model. The heavy black lines shown are the approximate distances to the P-wave shadow zone (http://earthquake.usgs.gov/learn/glossary.php?termID=170&alpha=S) (103 to 140 degrees).

Steve Hammons replied with a reference to an article he wrote in 2008:

"Regarding the 4.0 quake in the New Madrid fault zone in the last 24 hours, interesting that this shaker dovetails with the recent multi-state earthquake drill in that region.
Below is an oldie but a goodie about the New Madrid rattling in April 2008 -- that one was a 5.2 quake.
The article gives some background on the New Madrid fault zone and also addresses theories and speculation about global crustal pole shift concepts.

Midwest quake and 'crustal pole shift' theories provide perspective

Surprising earthquake activity can make us wonder if greater instability of the Earth’s crust will manifest itself in the coming months and years.

Some people even consider the idea of a huge and global “crustal pole shift” to be possible, both past and future.

The magnitude 5.2 earthquake that shook the much of the Midwest early Friday morning reminds us that the west coast and other seismic hot spots around the world are not the only regions vulnerable to significant or severe quake activity.

For those who have researched theories of historical and possibly future large “crustal shifts” or crustal “pole shifts,” each quake triggers a renewed contemplation of the possible validity of some crustal shift theories.

As has been widely reported, the area around the New Madrid fault zone in Missouri, Illinois and surrounding states has been shaken several times in recent decades.

The most severe quake in recorded history in the New Madrid region was the shaker in 1811 and 1812 which has been estimated to have been a 7.4 to 8.0 event."

This video was the one video the Department of Homeland Security did not want the average
person to know about. In it is information on the secret FUSION CENTERS which actively
collect information and target individuals.

There will be NO global crustal shift. The only shift going on is the slow crawl of the tectonic shift. The continents float upon the mantle and to actually move the whole of the crustal surface is just more energy than would be available in any short burst, and were that to happen it would likely melt the entire crust in the process.

The FEMA workers were only right to a slight factor, the earthquake there is likely and increasingly so, but at only a 1% to 2% per year, more likely the longer time period you apply, very likely if you look over 100 years in the future, 50% over the next 50 years. It could happen today, but not so likely that I'd put money on it. But their profession is to be ready from today until it does happen, the poster (vinney5036) lacks appreciation of that reality.

Well lets just hope the U.S.A. is without any huge quakes on the Eastern seaboard or the the "Great Northeast."

That's a lot of nuclear waste. It's too bad that stuff will outlast its containers.

New Madrid Mega Quake Tied To Sinkhole: Perhaps Imminent? Man Made Or An Act Of God?

The story and informative video below with references from Rev. Michelle Hopkins.

Over the years they have been filling a nearby salt dome in Assumption, Parish, Louisiana with radioactive waste and 1.5 million barrels of liquid Butane. If this sinkhole continues to devour land and trees in this area, it may eventually breach this storage area releasing not only toxic radiation into the environment, but also butane which will then become exposed to the air above. All it would take then would be the spark from a car ignition or some other source of fire to set in motion an explosion which some suggest could be equivalent to about 100 nuclear bombs similar to those used on Nagasaki or Hiroshima, in Japan. As bad as all of that would be, there is something even worse that could come from this.

An explosion on that magnitude would create a giant crater deep in the earth exposing this salt dome to the elements. Since this salt dome is also connected to the much larger Luann salt basin, that means water from the bayou will trickle down and quickly become a torrent of water to dissolve the salt in areas covering 5 states, up to a mile thick. As the salt dome looses integrity, all of those deep oil wells will become funnels to either blow out or pull more water into the cavity. When that finally collapses, ALL of Louisiana will sink into the Gulf of Mexico. Parts of Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida will also be underwater. The salt dome under the Texas gulf will also collapse, sending a huge tsunami tidal wave as far inland as the Balcones Escarpment. Cities like Houston and New Orleans will sink into the ocean, never to be seen again. Cities like Fort Worth, Dallas, Waco, Austin, and San Antonio will also be flooded, but might be restored as the tidal wave recedes.

The New Madrid fault and Mississippi river basin is being targeted with HAARP, fracking tech drilling operations, and possibly other means (such as nuclear explosions). They are planning to create an earthquake in that region to split this nation with an inland sea from Chicago to New Orleans. It will not be an “act of God.”.

It has been 280 days since this ATS thread was started. Not saying that nothing will happen, but things are quiet on the Ole New Madrid. Similar threads probably are similarly true for several spots in California, Seattle, Portland, Charleston, S.C. New York City where devastating earthquakes are forecast to occur in the future and are overdue. This World is a hodge podge of tectonic plates that have been bashed by asteroids and has a mantle subject to large forces of convection, and thus earthquakes. We can either have a few people in place in the critical spots to prepare for them or bury our heads in the sands of time. I think it only prudent to be prepared and to pre-station a few emergency workers in the danger zones, even if that danger turns out to be into the next century.
