In the last 48 hours, we've had close to 300 spammers signing up.

For that reason we will temporarily be suspending the online user registration, until further notice.

For those who are interested in becoming a member, feel free to contact any of the staff, or the admins [AT] theoutpostforum.com, in which case we can still manually sign you up.

ADMIN NOTICE 4 MARCH 2014

We installed all the latest security patches and hope that solves the problem with the spammers signing up.

User registrations are possible again!

The database we are using to check whether an IP address or email address of somebody who signs up is registered as a spammer is offline at the moment.

As a result, we were being inundated by spammers trying to sign up.
(At present, we're at an average of close to 500 a day who are trying to sign up).

We've temporarily disabled new registrations.

As the database is back online, I'm opening registrations again, and see how it will go.

We've come down to manageable levels: we're opening the registrations again.

We have 100s of spammers trying to register again, who are not being blocked by the spam-bot because the 'stop forum spam' database is knocked offline.

Registrations are temporarily disabled again.

Contact a member of the staff if you want to sign up.

The Stop Forum Spam server is presently down, which means spammers can more easily get through.

I'm disabling user registrations.

Well, that was an exercise in futility. Within hours we're at over 170 spammers trying to register simultaneously at the moment.

User registrations are disabled until further notice - which at this moment is INDEFINITELY.

IF YOU WANT TO SIGN UP, SEND A MAIL TO ONE OF THE STAFF.
