The news is breaking that Neil Armstrong has died of complications from heart surgery. He has really taken now that really one giant step that any one can take.

Family was at a Bible conference family camp / cottages, Gull Lake Michigan at the time. I remember looking skyward continually, not able to see it on TV and day-dreaming.

He died Saturday at the age of 82.

This saddens me as he and the other astronauts of that generation were inspirations to me in science.

I somehow feel a little of our innocence has passed away with him. Bon Voyage Astronaut Armstrong.
