Had to turn off Crazy Diamond on my media player to listen to this.
Funny to see Vika on a Grand Piano instead of her Roland keyboard.
VERY nice piano, I've played Bosendorfers at the local Piano Gallery. Fine piece$ of Vienna Austrian engineering.
Must say the song isn't quite the same without Clare Torry's vocalizations.

And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I don't mind.
Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.

I never said I was frightened of dying.

Agreed, calikid. You said everything i wanted to say.
It is nice to recognize how much more comes out of this great composition the way we heard it when it was new.
I recognized it then for the proper classical depth it held back then (and talked about that with the juvenile delinquent young men i was teaching at the time because they liked its musicality so much), but to register now how much more breadth the vocalization and band composition brought to the piece when edited through the studio sound board is something i could only have come to grasp by hearing this solo piece done as presented via the video we were graced with.

Interesting you mention the "studio sound board". While the vocals and composition are obvious, the engineering is often overlooked. Guess when your tech is a young gentleman named Alan Parsons, you can't help but recognize the contribution.
May I ask what you were teaching? Music?
Please share one of your favorite tunes.

Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and others -- "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

Always thought Prince (red hat, instead of the usual purple) was Ok, but he absolutely wails on lead guitar on this tribute song.
Nice to see Tom Petty and the rest. Kinda weird to see Mr Windwood on keyboard, but all in all a Great tribute to the Geo Harrison hit.
    Hall of Fame performance 2012.
