The Anniversary of 1992 Riots is April 29th, 2017... At the time, music was my life... I was not in a band and simply worked in the music industry. 1992, I was onsite manager of rehearsal studios for bands in Downtown Los Angeles... Living in Boyle Heights/East LA and working downtown, I was near the epicenter of the 1992 Riots... As a side project, I was managing Mr. Ectomy. Outside of the Grateful Dead, Mr. Ectomy had one of the largest followings of Deadheads in the country. Watching, hearing and smelling the city burn, my heart grieved.

Plastic Castles is as relevant today as it was 1992...
Entire 1992 album "Wider than the Beatles - Taller than Jesus" is posted at youtube - click here, warning some songs have explicit lyrics.
Songs to check-out: Lombo, Arizona, Glasnost, Plastic Castles, Mr. Madonna, Hit the...

Aerosmith - Living on the Edge

Released in 1993 on the "Get a Grip" LP, the lyrics were said to be inspired by the Los Angeles Rodney King riots of 1992.

    Rag'n'Bone Man
Strong musical style and heartfelt lyrics.

    Skin

Internet has changed everything for entertainment.
We no longer find new music through airwaves of FM/AM broadcasting.
On Monday, Matthew Bacik aka Matterrs posted a cover-tune of "Skin".
His post led me to explore music by Rag'n'Bone Man.

    Ritchie Blackmore?
Not many Guitar Hero game players who don't know his hot licks from HIGHWAY STAR,
    a Deep Purple classic.

Back in the mid-70s I used to tear up the asphalt in a very bad muscle car, with HIGHWAY STAR blaring on my 8-track player. Good times.

My heart grieved that day, as well. I was driving down from the High Desert to some meeting or other
Ironically, my passenger was a Black man, an Air Force member IIRC. As the radio reports grew more grim, we decided to turn back somewhere around the Francisquito Blvd Exit. He told me later that for the next year he carried a 9mm with him when he had to go down there, especially if his wife was with him. The World had become a sadder place.
