    ALONE THEY CRY

Behold I stood at the door and knocked.
And when I opened my eyes, alone I cried,
    "It Matters Not"

Yea, yea, I turned and they cried out.
I stretched forth my hand and they took a bite.

    In pain I cried,
Who, who, tell me who are you?

Again, they cried out and took another bite.

    In pain, nay, nay...
Tis in agony that I cried,
    Why, why, tell me why?

    Alone, they cried...
Not once, not twice, but thrice I stretched forth my hand.
    They took yet another bite.

    In agony, nay, nay...
Tis from a tormented soul that I cry...

Written near the time of riots in Los Angeles, 1992. I was living and working dead center of the battle zone. Spent all my free time writing screenplays, I was drafting Taken at the time.

    Inception

Uncertain of mortality, in search of clarity, two minds crisscrossed lines, their souls danced out of time.

Penetrating unlit chasms, hearts thumped out of rhyme.

Joined for exhilaration, detached after expiration.

Yearning for absolution, another soul seeks resolution, yields to an unknown destination.

Created at conception; disconnected at separation.

With intentions unknown, an individual slipped on through.

Bleeding conduit departed, the body shuddered.

Transcending boundaries of unreality, balanced between sanity and eccentricity.

Pondering who, why, what, where and when, a solitary tempo beats within.

Wrote this the night a friend's daughter was born.
A teenage pregnancy, he was 17 or 18 when she was born.

    GREY SHADOW DECEIVERS

It’s the Greys that blind, and we’re forced to speak between the lines.

Take back your lives, open your spirits, choice and freedom awaits.

Your kings and rulers sleep with the Deceivers.
They fear you and wish to control your destiny.
No matter what price you’ll have to pay.

Oh give it up, turn up the lights and flood-out the Greys.

    They’ll vanish and scream.
    None shall hear their cries.
    Too many enemies made.

    It could be over.
    It should be ended.
Just turn on the lights and open your eyes.

Should have titled this thread: "Cries amid a wilderness of lost souls" by Casper Parks.

Unsure how it would be accepted, started this thread with hesitation. There are not many poems regarding these topics. Most are inspired by a story I was working on at the time.

    From Perceptional Threshold

    Dawn pierced by blinding light
    Dusk falls to sightless night
Nowhere to flee, nowhere to hide
Groping in darkness, wandering to and fro
Weeping and wailing they call for death

    --------------------------------------------
    Unseen, unheard
    Voices expiring in the wind
Forsaking freewill and ruled by darkness

    ---------------------------------------------
Reaper of souls tolls his bells.
Cold metal sounds, ringing and dinging, calling unto the dying.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Dispatch heartless pain
    Cast aside fear and doubt
Hold fast to love and honor
Harbor that which is good and just
    Despise that which is not.
Turn and repent before it is too late

Maybe this will encourage others to share verse or other art forms of their own. Any of us can use the Blog section for things they have written that don't fit easily into one of these sections, also.
