Thread: Emerging Surveillance State?

  1. #461
Here is an example of what I feel is beyond the ability of anyone to protect you against this type of privacy invasion!

    https://sii.transparencytoolkit.org/...ssii_companies

Technology Sold: Internet Monitoring, Phone Monitoring, Location Monitoring, Analysis, Intrusion, Biometrics, Monitoring Centre, Communications Monitoring, and Monitoring Centres

Now add in unknown Nano-technology and you are what ever they want you be, plain and simple.

Ha! notice Monitoring Centre is listed twice, probably not a typo, one of them is missing an identifier. (IMO)

Keep in mind there is more and more health care machinery on line and even on satellite link.

I wonder how much the entire administrator suit cost.

How close it this Company to the CIA HQ?

Close to ClA? If only it were limited to ClA. lSS appears to be a world wide conglomerate.
They boast 4,635 attendees from 110 Countries at their last "Lawful lnterception, Criminal lnvestigations & lntelligence Gathering" conference.
Don't you feel better knowing these tools are only used for Lawful Intercepts?

I count more than half dozen documents in the WikiLeaks Snowden files, related to ISS.
Guess Snowden had his doubts too.

CBS News reports: Chain store in US now refusing cash, accepts only electronic payments.

Click here for news article - Stores to customers: "Cash not welcome here"

Basically, stores refusing cash are boycotting people unwilling or unable to use electronic payments.

Tracking customer spending is possible with usage of electronic payments. Data for sale allows businesses to make extra money from customer data.

Based on religious beliefs, if you object to using only electronic payments - so sad too bad.

Object based on Right to Privacy, so sad too bad.

How it begins, boycotting those unwilling or unable to go cashless. In near future it will become impossible to use cash... At the time of this posting electronic payments are done via mobile phone or card. An implantable or tattoo RFID is on the horizon.

Guess I'd be in trouble. My CHIP ATM/Debit card said "not read" yesterday at the store. Lucky I had cash, AND the the store accepted it. Bank said 7 to 10 days for replacement. 😛

On a related note, the local police department refuses cash as well. Want to buy a police report copy? US Postal money order only.

Reuters reports: Exclusive: Yahoo secretly scanned customer emails for U.S. intelligence - click for news article.

Interesting notation from article, Senior Executives at Yahoo were unhappy with decisions by others at the company that allowed NSA to gather data.

This is a bit of a blood boiler for me....I would not mind so much if the NSA made statement before hand that they were going to look through all emails starting on a certain date and would be only looking for mail with a certain signature etc. At least we would know what to expect. One wonders if "knowing" that the NSA has this ability, the nefarious minds out there would refrain from using Yahoo email. Strangely odd....

    Strange wording:
The request to search Yahoo Mail accounts came in the form of a classified edict sent to the company's legal team, according to the three people familiar with the matter.
Edict? Sounds very regal, like a Royal Command?
Wonder if Yahoo kissed the NSA's ring before handing over the information?
You'd think they would at least bother with a NSL (National Security Letter) rubber stamp to avoid any appearance of impropriety.
Seems unusual this story breaks on the heels of an announced hack of Yahoo users "Please change your password". Have to wonder if they are related?

    Remember that selfie craze?
It prodded people to upload their images to the internet.

    CBS News reports:
Nearly half of Americans in facial recognition databases / Law enforcement increasing use of facial recognition technology.

Notice how "fear porn" is used: Capture criminals, find and stop terrorists.
Appears the government is using driver licenses, State IDs, internet images and so-on to build a massive data base.

My brother in law installed the power cables to the facial recognition cameras that operate in the international terminal of the Honolulu airport. It's been in use for the past several years.

It's no coincidence that high profile arrests often take place there.
