One of my favorite authors, Tom Clancy, has died. He was age 66.
    October 2013

    A few words from CNN.
Author Tom Clancy, whose novel, "The Hunt for Red October" propelled him to fame, fortune and status as a favorite storyteller of the American military, has died, according to sources with his publisher and family. He was 66.

The cause of death wasn't immediately available.

A Baltimore-born former insurance agent, Clancy was known for writing meticulous thrillers focusing on political intrigue and military tactics and technology. He published 28 books -- including a new novel yet to be released.

Several were made into Hollywood blockbusters, including "The Hunt for Red October," "Patriot Games," and "The Sum of All Fears."

Seventeen of his novels appeared on the New York Times best-sellers list, according to his website. Many of them reached the No. 1 spot.

His writings also provided the inspiration for the "Rainbow Six," "Ghost Recon" and "Splinter Cell," video game series. Story Continues

    RIP Nelson Mandela

Former South African President Nelson Mandela died Thursday December 5, 2013 at age 95 of complications from a recurring lung infection.

The anti-apartheid leader and Nobel laureate was a beloved figure around the world, a symbol of reconciliation from a country with a brutal history of racism.

    Holy $41t...

Just saw him on the C4D hearings...He did amazing work. Wonder what the cause was???

    Just found this...http://nyufo.bravesites.com/entries/...ger-leir-dies-

Another site claims he battled with shingles for a bit that led to complications.

    Either way,

An individual that had a significant effect towards our movement of understanding has passed. His family has my condolences, and he will be sorely missed.
