Yes, sad losing Elvis back in 1977.
But so far 2016 reminds me more of 1970, when we lost Jimmy and Janis.

    Tough one for me.
Keith was one of my childhood's personal heroes.
He inspired me (with the ELP inaugural "Dove" album tunes. The Moog on Lucky Man & the Piano work on "Take a Pebble") to take up keyboards/piano at a young age.
Piano, Hammond Organ, Moog Synth, he was one of the very best keyboard players & Composers of the 70's era.
His on stage theatrical antics were amusing, but his towering technical prowess was always the root of my admiration.

He did have medical issues a few years ago. But at this point we can only speculate on the motivation for his apparent suicide.

David Bowie, Glenn Fry, and now Keith Emerson.
So far, 2016 is a tough year for rock legends.

Got to hate epic fails of spell check.

TARKUS. Yes, a great follow up album, and amazing tour.

There are reports on Twitter that Prince has passed away.

That would be another great loss...

Edit to add: his publicist just confirmed: Prince Dead at 57.

Too young to die for sure and of the flu of all things.... but yes, people do die of the flu if it's bad enough. RIP Prince! You'll be missed.

Yes. CNN is reporting that police are on the scene in Minnesota conducting an investigation. CNN is reporting live.

Not that I wanted this to happen but about fifteen minutes ago Prince's face flashed in my minds eye and it was covered with dripping blood. He was still alive at that point but he was gasping for breath.
I'm not going to interpret that but that's what I saw.

Reports here in Minnesota have Prince suffering overdose prior to Atlanta concerts, Prince denied saving medicine in Illinois on the way back from Atlanta and health mismanagement on his arrival here. It sounds like he needed interventional ICU, and did not get it.

    RIP Prince

Drug is reported to be "percoset", so it may have been prescribed but abused.
