Interesting Video from Brazil, certainly an object reentering the atmosphere.

I spotted this video earlier on my Google+ feed, it has multiple angles from multiple Cameras, and looks fairly unusual.

Due to the way the individual heat trails are coming off the object it is probably highly irregular in shape, and the object is not rotating or spinning, suggesting a more controlled reentry, does anyone know of any space debris coming down over that area recently?

Additionally, has any more information come to light? [I note the video was posted almost three days ago.]

This is nothing more than a vapor trail being left by large four engine airliner like a Boeing 747 or Airbus 340. It's long duration is one "tell", it's color in the setting Sun is another. I have seen this many times and it is only a mystery to those who do not study the sky.

@Majicbar, yes I agree, I just don't typically see the effect [thinking back on it there was one incident off the coast of the states a year or two back that was due to similar.] Anyway, mystery solved.

Here in Minneapolis we used to see quite a few 747s when it was then Northwest Airlines and late flights in the Winter would get up high enough in the West to leave this exact kind of contrail. Today you need binoculars to verify the type of airliner when one goes over in just the right kind of airmass and then see if it leaves this kind of contrail. When low pressure is approaching this is more likely to be seen. It seems that today's more efficient engines seem to be leaving shorter trails, or the air up there is just so much dryer.
