    150,000-Year-Old Pipes Baffle Scientists

That's no typo. So, man made, or a fluke of nature?

In a mysterious pyramid in China’s Qinghai Province near Mount Baigong are three caves filled with pipes leading to a nearby salt-water lake. There are also pipes under the lake bed and on the shore. The iron pipes range in size, with some smaller than a toothpick. The strangest part is that they may be about 150,000 years old.

Dating done by the Beijing Institute of Geology determined these iron pipes were smelted about 150,000 years ago, if they were indeed made by humans, according to Brian Dunning of Skeptoid.com.

Interesting. They have also discovered what might be a two million year old playground in China.

Either they are making some fantastic discoveries (that could change what we think we know about history) in China or we can't trust the archeological information that comes out of there.

It could have been outpost colonization attempt by an aliens, abandoned except that underground evidence not removed, oversight? Where did pipes go from and to? It would seem that some additional excavations might yield more insights.

This is the kind of annoying nonsense that circulates forever on the Internet. I went back as far as the initial 2002 Chinese article mentioned in the first link, translated it via Google translate it was obvious even from that that it was rubbish. The first guy who went to the site got completely carried away with what he found. Another guy went back there a following year and discovered that first guy's unrecognisable and therefore off world 8% of his sample was something like sodium and two other common elements the iron tubes were pyrites. A waste of time and more wishful thinking than fact.

    Thanks for the update!

We want the Truth, the whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth...
Wishful thinking is not part of that.

I think there is a possibility of a natural origin but with the other stories coming out any authentic evidence is going to get buried in the nonsense.

As Garuda said. We want the truth.
