It is a matter of voting decent people into power. Is this really not possible in the US? You guys have just given up as voters and citizens?

Not given up, it's just the choices have been radically reduced. I still cast my vote, but I have no party lines (independent). I try to vote for the best candidate that I feel would be able to do the best job.
