Now we've got major networks debunking it, like CNN - click here to watch video.

    It wasn't exactly debunked.

I am still on the fence as to the authenticity of the video, but here are some examples of "superior" mirages or "Fata Morgana ("superior" means the mirage is seen above the horizon) to help you better understand what is being discussed:

The following is a famous mirage (which caused a reflection of the city to float above the bay) that appeared off the shore of Penglai City in eastern China's Shandong Province on Sunday, May 7, 2005.

Mmm, yes, very curious, very interesting...

In the case of fata morgana's, the mirages are seen inverted and not right side up.

The mirage recently seen in China is not a "fata morgana".

Here's an example of a fata morgana. It's showing one of boats on the water. As we can see, the boats are upside down and inverted.

Technically, it is possible to see the image as being right side up too… as in a combination of upside down and right side up, which can be overlaid in numerous ways.

Here is an example where you see the boat at the bottom, and inverted image in the middle and an upright image on top:

And where the land floating up in the sky as a mirror image of itself... as a right side up image sitting on an upside down image:

So they can be seen right side up too? Thanks, just wondering about that because everything I was finding on fata morgana said and showed the mirages to be upside down. Very confusing. lol

    And thanks for those links!

I noticed that too. The graphics of the original show with a close up, up high, seen from down below 'increased' perspective, as though they were higher buildings and seen from way below them.

If its a fake, no problem. If this might have been an actual event, that would be pretty wild. Like, whats going on here? We should be studying that 'if' it 'did' occur.

Its so dang hard to tell what is real these days with the amazing talent of people in creating high realism CG art. Movies depict such events with complete realism. Very difficult to tell what you are looking at these days.
