Popular Mechanics have actually done some proper journalism.
Chasing down witnesses and even researching leads. They’ve even dug up a new witness Ryan Weigeit.

The five men share an easy rapport with each other, playfully ribbing one another while also communicating a deep sense of mutual respect. It’s clear they all share the bond of having once served in the armed forces. Yet for Gary Voorhis, Jason Turner, P.J. Hughes, Ryan Weigelt, and Kevin Day—assembled together in a private group chat by Popular Mechanics—something much bigger ties them together beyond simply serving in the U.S. Navy...

I noted that RT also covered this piece as well, they naturally have a few details they have concentrated on in particular: https://www.rt.com/usa/473379-navy-crew-ufo-encounter/

    Cover-up or screw-up?

Over a decade on from the mysterious encounter, Princeton crew members are still scratching their heads about what happened that week in November of 2004, as well as the events that followed.
Soon after the F/A-18 intercept, Voorhis says two men arrived on the Princeton in search of the data recordings captured during the run-in, which he was ordered to turn over immediately. Other recording devices on the ship had also been wiped clean. “They even told me to erase everything that’s in the shop – even the blank tapes,” he said.
“What really made this incident alarming was when a Blackhawk helicopter landed on our ship and took all our information from the top secret rooms,” another sailor aboard the Princeton told Popular Mechanics under condition of anonymity.
“We were all pretty shocked and it was an unspoken rule not to talk about it because we had secret clearances and didn’t want to jeopardize our careers,” he added.

Skeptical about a cover-up, however, one of the F/A-18 pilots present for the intercept, Commander David Fravor, believes the data was simply lost or recorded over on accident, though he acknowledges the disappearance of data records on the ship.
“I think Cmdr. Fravor’s opinion on how the tapes went missing is the most plausible explanation,” Vincent Aiello, another retired fighter pilot familiar with Fravor’s account, told Popular Mechanics. “However, a lot of squadron personnel have access to those materials, so it leaves the door open that someone could have intentionally taken them.”
Despite the disagreement among some of the crew about whether the Pentagon sought to bury the event under the rug, several witnesses remain convinced something bigger than a radar error was at work and stand by their stories.
“This thing, it was so much more than what you see in [the 2017] video,” said former Petty Officer 3rd Class and Princeton crew member Jason Turner.
Note the areas mentioned, those are the places on a ship that you would want to investigate for this type of material. In turn, these are the locations that a Remote Viewer should concentrate on.

RT.com? Russian Television. Seems unusual (IMHO) for them to be reporting on US Military UFO stories. I suspect Russia has plenty of their own sighting to headline.

Originally "Russia Today" before their rebranding effort. They have their own perspective and propaganda on subjects as to be expected, but no-more so than anyone else at this current stage.
I find them useful as a barometer on internal US affairs, and generally anything bad that may be happening. In terms of reporting, I check the BBC, CNN, NYT, NPK, Al Jazeera, sources in place, Journalists on the ground preparing stories as well as direct eyewitness reports and a multitude of independents.

The point being, I try to get a complete picture, not just the one that people want the public to see. In NZ, for example, the current Government strategy is that if a story must be killed, then it is reported on a Saturday. If an institution is to be removed, and they want no opposition, then it is demonised as thoroughly as possible over a 1 month period before it is given the chop (given this is always the case, it is rather easy to spot who is going next.) They use the rather childish approach of producing legislative changes that wouldn't fly in a million years, and then par it down to what they really wanted; which makes the public think they have won, when they have simply been played.

Now, as far as Russia is concerned, they have their own internal problems, with the public lacking the luxury to think seriously on the UFO topic. Also, I am not sure of which region they are placed in terms of administrative control from an ET perspective; an ET administered region will not follow the Human concept of borders and regional separation.

Paco Chierici who wrote the original Flight Sweep Article which broke the USS Nimitz 'Tic Tac' story, a couple of years before the New York Times. is interviewed below.
Great interview he brings a caopy of the full ATTIP report on the Incident along to the interview!

This guy seems unreliable to me but he claims Donald Trump deployed 'the TicTac' to scare the Korean leader, Kim Jong-un.

Actually had a listen to Mike Turber who claims to be a Former US Air Force Intelligence Specialist - He seems very convincing. One thing he said a couple of times is that when they deliberately released the footage of these craft in Dec 2017. They couldn't believe that just went. Mrrr and moved on. He says he was briefed with 16 others some he knew who are all hopefully going to come forward and talk about this stuff.
He claims the East coast sightings were just another US companies bid for the black budget dollars.

New witness has come forward - 'Henry' talks about how the CEO and multiple aircraft were involved in a night mission to try to pin down a Tic Tac.
Very interesting seeing as the CEO never forced all the crews to sign NDAs. And as a Night Mission it would be a separate to Dave Fravor's squadron's encounters.

    Starts @55'15"
