For those of you using Firefox, Firefox Quantum has arrived.
It's been entirely rewritten in a new programming language. And it IS fast, noticeably faster than before.
It also uses far less memory, especially compared to Google Chrome.
The bad news: loads of addons are not compatible (or not yet) with the new version.
Included among the ones that are not compatible are three that I used:
- NoScript (arguably the most used script blocker on FF)
- FB Purity: an addon that blocks ads and game requests etc. on Facebook.
- a status bar addon.
Firefox suggests installing uMatrix as an alternative to NoScript, but it is an addon for more advanced users, and there is hardly any documentation available.
