Not sure why the big "Black Female Lead" headline.
Until the part is actually cast, I have to reserve judgement. IMHO, the actual actress selected and her abilities to bring the part alive will determine success or failure.
With the popular success of the series, Michelle Geller left some big shoes to fill no matter who they select.
Best of luck to Joss and his new project.
    I liked Firefly/Serenity...

Good news for Star Trek fans: the rumors were true. Patrick Stewart is reprising his role as Jean-Luc Picard in a new series:

Monday, the 20th of August 2018:
I watched "Alpha" at a theater and will watch it again.
Viewing on this film on the big screen is amazing.
When released in Blue-ray, I am buying a copy for my library.
It is a film worth sharing.

This looks to be "First rate" and a subject matter which follows my heart. Just wish they would get the color correct of the Martian surface.
