Probably should have shared this piece of comedy Gold earlier, from SyFy channel.
RESIDENT ALIEN is about to wrap up Season1. (Only 2 ep. left).
Your typical "fish out of water" story. MINOR SPOILERS

An alien on a mission crash lands on Earth, and attempts to mimic a typical human Medical Doctor after (accidentally/violently?) killing said remote recluse Doctor, and then using his chameleon like abilities to assume his shape... and life.
Staring Alan Tudyk (Wash from Firefly, etc.) and supporting actress Linda Hamilton (Terminator/Sarah Conner, etc.).
There are some nice special effects, and great comedy.
After his first night out with new friends, and his introduction to the beverage Whiskey, he says things like:
"Whiskey makes things so clear, I can make great decisions after drinking." Turns out, not so much! LoL
The Following mornings painful hangover: "Humans must not be affected the same way as we are, otherwise they would never drink". LoL.

I'm getting a video unavailable error...

I did see a short trailer on Twitter, and - Oh, horror - it seems Q plays a central role in the second season.

    Monsters of California (2021)
    Directed by Tom DeLonge
    .
Well, now we know what TDL's next big project looks like.
One of the actors was on late night TV being interviewed.
    Said TDL was very annoying.
Actor would be busy trying to memorize his lines but TDL would insist on interrupting with UFO stories.

Someone on social media was posting classic science fiction stuff. He posted about The Time Tunnel. Lot of childhood memories watching it. Anyone have classic science fiction favorites?

New Dune trailer shows off 3 minutes of desert chaos

Denis Villeneuve's version of Dune is set for release in October.

Dune incredible new trailer was released on Thursday, revealing more of the upcoming adaptation of Frank Herbert's epic 1965 sci-fi novel. The movie hits theaters and HBO Max on Oct. 22, and fans across the US also got to see the first 10 minutes at IMAX preview events.

The movie tells the tale of the battle to control dusty desert planet Arrakis, which is the only source of the super valuable spice (also known as melange). This drug can prolong human life, provides superhuman levels of thought and enables faster-than-light travel.

So thats a re-make of the original 1984 DUNE?

I thought the 1984 was pretty good!

Remake does look good... The cast are amazing actors. Lot of advances with CGI since 1984... It's unlikely that I'll be able to watch at a theater. There is a high probability when released on disk that I'll buy it.
