Think of the hard-working men who fix cars, build houses, and design machines, then have their labor taken at gunpoint by the I.R.S. to pay these jackasses $150,000 per year to sit about and write science fiction bullcrap like this.

    It's vile and immoral.

Engage warp drive! Nasa reveals latest designs for a Star Trek-style spacecraft that could make interstellar travel a reality
    • A Nasa scientist in Houston worked with an artist to create the concept
    • The interstellar spacecraft builds on previous designs that thoeretically allow distant travel by bending space-time
    • Called IXS Enterprise, it is similar to the Star Trek ship of the same name
    • Dr White said the spacecraft could reach Alpha Centauri in two weeks
    • Warp travel is the focus of Christopher Nolan's 2014 movie Interstellar

Last month, Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan unveiled his next science-fiction blockbuster.
Called Interstellar, it envisages a future where travel to other stars is not only a possibility but a necessity, and tasks actor Matthew McConaughey with leading the main mission.
But a Nasa scientist claims such a mission isn’t necessarily just something reserved for science fiction - and has revealed a Star Trek-style ship that could make interstellar travel a reality.

In the near future, I expect a sudden leap forward in speed.

This is an advertiesement for the Time-Warner movie http://www.interstellarmovie.com due out this November.

NASA is always willing to help promote science fiction. It helps them get funding despite the 17 Trillion dollars of debt U.S. citizens owe.

Ya, I know where you coming from CP but the actual amount that NASA gets compared to the 3 and a half trillion budget DC gets to play with comes to about a half a penny per tax dollar of the 18.7 billion dollar budget NASA gets. WE give away more money to Iraq, Libya, Egypt and the forever starving children of Africa and if you want to add all the 20 million illegals we give handouts to that half a penny NASA gets is well worth the return we get in real science.

Our planet is getting pretty crowded down here so it should be time we expand our habitat to some friendly places out there in the sky above.

Click here to visit Foreign Assistance dot gov for a break down of how much money the United States gives and where it is going. When the website opens there is an arrow box, click through it to until seeing Foreign Assistance by country.

I don't want ANY of my money taken at the point of a gun. However, I do realize most people believe theft is moral.

The idea that people moving to space will somehow reduce earth's population in any meaningful way is nonsense. If anything it would result in a situation like the movie Elysium where Elites extract resources by force from poor people to live in luxury, like they do now, only with more separation.

This is the ultimate goal of communism. Prole labor supporting the Inner Party luxuries. It's why European banking cartels developed and implemented socialism in the late 19th century.

I love how the NASA page in your link says they take from the average person the Masonic magic number of 33.

if you have to violate the special theory of relativity to go faster than the speed of light then violate it. the theory of relativity gave me only one thing; the theory of relativity. it did not give me the flowers and clouds and green pastures and clear blue sky that I am accustomed to. it did not give me ngc 101 or m77 or the brilliant stream of stars that grace the Andromeda galaxy. violate it. the special theory of relativity did not give me the fruit of the apple tree or strawberry or the persimmon that I am used to. it did not give me honey or coconut or fruit of the date palm. I know that the same or similar exists in some other part of the universe because the universe is what it is: the universe; or multiverse: or infiniverse. there are so many questions and violating the special theory of relativity is the least of them. so, violate it. if you cherish the rain drops on your cheeks, if you savour the sweetness of the mulberry bush, then violate it. better yet, rape it, kill it. the equation e=mc2 proved defective a long long time ago. are you still worshiping the shrinks of your grand daddy's day - freud and pepperheimer. if not, then why do you sweat over Einstein and oppenheimer. grab a glass 'o beer. its all in there. to be sure .. .. search for binary planets whos physical parameters such as mass and diameter are related by the golden ratio .. ..
