This is an interresting video of a clear sphere or donut shaped object over Italy.

My first reaction is that it is some sort of balloon. But, do we have balloon material that is that transparent?

Thanks for the video of the weather balloon, murmur.

What I don't see in the video from Italy (and I do see in the NASA video), are the ropes dangling from the bottom, holding the instruments to measure weather and atmospheric phenomena. If the one in Italy is a weather balloon, then its mission failed because it must have lost its instruments.

Too bad we don't know its altitude, speed and direction because that information could rule out balloons immediately.
