The man was a legend. Great spot Casper.
The best account which describes the background and all the debunkery is in
It Never Happened, Volume 1: U.S. Air Force UFO Cover-up Revealed Paperback – May 1, 2017

Schindele reasearch into the USAF mishandling or coverup and how it all unfolded is in there.
It's just as Keyhoe said the first airforce investigation told them the phenomenon was real and there was something in it. It started out with the brightest and best scientists working on it but they realised that they kept coming to the same conclusion so employed debunkers, or the most opinionated who would dismiss the evidence whatever it was.
Tragic we could have been told then.

You're right, we should've been told back in the 1940s and 1950s.

It was a great interview... We keep hearing people claiming to have new information, when that info has been around for decades. It is one thing to claim they have new sources that confirm something or make reference to it, but the original source should be notated... It bothers me when credit is due to someone from the early days of struggling for Disclosure is ignored and often forgotten. For the Historical Records, these people that were earlier in the struggle for Disclosure must not be forgotten.
