A man claims that he was part of a privately funded secret mission to Mars to collect samples.
He is in his thirties, claims to have worked for the CIA at NASA, and to have returned from this mission to Mars in the late Fall of 2011.
He also claims the two other astronauts who were with him on this mission have been murdered.

Did I miss it? How long was the "flight"?
This story read like the questions and answers were from the same person... a person that really likes the Wii.
Does this guy actually think these people won't know when he goes to a doctor?
I'll wait and see what others think about this story before I give it a thumbs down.
Here you go Norenrad:
"It took us about 230 days to get there, and slightly less back. We used rocket technology regularly available now. Just bigger tanks and more thrust."
I'm not sure what to make of the story myself, the lack of sensationalism adds some credibility in my mind. The guy himself says that his story is "boring", no time travel, no aliens and no "jump room". I'll withhold judgement for now and see how this 'pans out'.

Thanks Lee, now that you posted that, I remember it. I do know that if I had made that trip, I would have included a lot more details, like what they had to do when entering Mars atmosphere and what their training consisted of, what type of instruments were on board, what the ship looked like other than they had plenty of room, how their spacesuits may have been different. I just think there would be more detail, he seemed to have the time to go into some of that. I realise that I wasn't reading a Sci-Fi novel, but I got the sense that he was stuffed into a makeshift tin can and shot out into space. Another thing that sticks out is that some government somewhere would have detected their rocket leaving the Earth. He mentions that these are very powerful people, but a rocket leaving the Earth's atmosphere from China, would raise quite a few eyebrows.

Sounds like a movie, doesn't it? Think Val Kilmer

When I was 15 I remember a big stink because a neighbor had just returned home after being missing for two months. It turned out that he was found in Indonesia and told a tale of being like a CIA James Bond and had some wild tales that went with it. It turned out that this was the third time he had had this kind of adventure and that he was in the care of a shrink, who seemed not to have too good a hold on the guy. We lived next to a news anchor and got the whole scoop, though it would never be broadcast. Now maybe the guy who went to Mars has a similar problem and lives a delusional and paranoid life. Who knows for sure, but that is in fact much more likely than the yarn he is weaving for us to believe. I'm only speculating, but it falls within my experience to say that there are far more mundane explanations that come to mind rather than believing his story that he went to Mars.
