On the one hand, yes, it's nice to have a new Beatles' song, and, yes, it does sound like a Beatles' song.
Having said that, I think it is a fairly mediocre Beatles' song.

It's very nice to hear a creation from John Lennen from the past. I sense his style in the lyrics, reminiscent of one of his greatest songs "Imagin".
Your right about being mediocre, lacking a bit more fullness in MHO.
