Thread: What music are you listening to now...?

    MGMT OFFICIAL - "Alien Days"

Here's a better way to see the lyrics!

Sometimes the windows combine with the seams
    in a way
that twitches on a peak at the place where the spirit was slain
    one foot leads to another
night's for sleep, blue curtains, covers
    sequins in the eyes
that's a fine time to dine
divine who's circling, feeding the cards to the midwives
    who love those alien days
    the nonstop alien days
    mmm the alien days

must've skipped the ship and joined the team
    for a ride
a couple hours to learn the controls
    and commandeer both my eyes
    hey!
be quick dear, times are uncertain
one month crawling, next year blurring
    decades in the drain
    monograms on the brain
decide what's working and what's moved on
    to the last phase
    the floodgate alien days
    I love those alien days
    mmm the alien days

when the peels are down it feels like traveling in style
you don't need wings to hover forty ton stones for a mile
and in the summer, virgin visions
    mindless humming
numbers can't decide if the day's supposed to smile

today find infinite ways it could be
    plenty worse
    it's a blessing but it's also a curse

those days taught me everything I know
    how to catch a feeling
and when to let it go
how all the scheming, soulless creatures
can't find dreamer's honey in the hive
if it's right beneath the nose

and when the light is new
    the sky shows trembling cartoons
you don't need smoke to cover
most of the world in a gloom
but here comes racer number 7
watch my fingers ripping out the lines
if it looks like we could lose
if it looks like we could lose
if it looks like we could lose
if it looks like we could lose

Just one more Gorillaz - On Melancholy Hill

    Up on melancholy hill
    There's a plastic tree
    Are you here with me
Just looking out on the day
    Of another dream

Well you can't get what you want
    But you can get me
So let's set up and see
    'Cause you are my medicine
    When you're close to me
    When you're close to me

    So call in the submarines
    'Round the world will go
    Does anybody know
If we're looking out on the day
    Of another dream

If you can't get what you want
    Then you come with me

    Up on melancholy hill
    Sits a manatee
Just looking off for the day
    When you're close to me
    When you're close to me

    When you're close to me

LOL I guess you can tell the Gorillaz are heavy in my music rotation at the mo
I was listening to them last year like you today, really enjoying their music, style and video-clips after I discovered the French concert "La Musicale", absolutely wonderful with fantastic guests, as usual, such as Bobby Womack, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble Band, Daley and of course Paul Simonon (The Clash)

Thanks for that Elevenaugust hadn't heard of "La Musical" very cool.

Actually I was first turned on to Gorillaz, oh, in 2004 maybe but hadn't listened to then in a long while... Just so much good and or interesting music to listen to out there these days. They come and go out of rotation.

Another band I've been revisiting and back in rotation from the mid 2000's is Daft Punk.

Daft Punk - Something About Us

One of my favs of theirs.

    Hi there fellow music lovers.

I am addicted to chill female vocal - and for me it is coolest thing to have an online radio broadcast luscious music in my office when I work. The one I am currently favouring is SomaFM's Lush feed - http://somafm.com/listen/

    Happy days

    You're welcome!

Daft punk: yes! One of my favorite band as well, that I recently revisited too.
"Something about us" is a cool song, very entertaining, and I think that you might enjoy also this one...

....short, but with an unusual sound for Daft Punk, and very relaxing anyway.

    Nice feed, thanks for sharing.

Do you like any particular artist? Or just the genre in general?

I just love the genre - but do collect artists if I can did up their names from album material.

A good example would be "Afterlife " with "Speck of Gold"

The concept of specific focus on genre's via internet radio never came up on my radar till I bought a Tablet and Android is just awesome for choice of options and access....
