Windows 10 Upgrade

It seems I haven't updated this since the April and May patches ended up crashing all my machines. Two - both with Windows 11 - needed to be reformatted, on one - with Win10 - windows had to be reinstalled, and the fourth one was able to repair itself.

One of the machines has an SSD since that crash, and installing the patches on that one is typically very fast. Usually about 3 minutes.

On the other three machines, time varied between 15 minutes for the Win11 machine, and nearly 1 hour for the Win10 machines.

Thus far, no problems encountered.

Today's patches TAKE LONG!

On a Win11 machine with an SSD: about 5 minutes, which is longer than the 3 minutes it usually takes.

On a Win11 machine with a HDD: about 50 minutes.

The Win10 machines, both with HDD: just over two hours each.

Today's patches went smoothly.

On Win 11 with SSD: 3 minutes.

On win11 with HDU, and on 2 Win10 machines: about 20 minutes.


If you are on Win11, I'd recommend staying away from the 24h2 update for now.
Got stuck at 72% on my Acer. Could not be cancelled, could not be undone, and a system restore failed as well.
I had to manually go and clean up the mess and then do a system repair.
