As artificial intelligence continues to evolve and integrate into our lives, it's important to consider the potential threats it poses.
Hopefully they will install some sort of Asimov laws for the AI where it can't harm people, or let be people come to harm by inaction. But AI shouldn't be put in control of anything deadly, and definitely no autonomous missiles. The thing I'm worried about is AI created deep fakes. What's to keep criminal defendants from claiming all evidence against them is just deep fakes?
My inner Mulder wants to believe, but my inner Scully remains skeptical.
There are several initiatives, both from within the industry and from governmental sides, to regulate AI. Suggested regulation includes things like a compulsory kill switch, a ban on weaponized AI, etc.
I've been involved in the field of AI for 30+ years. It has great potential, and most people who predict doom scenarios tend to not really know what they're talking about.
With just a few safeguards in place, those scenarios can be avoided.
The real threat is if some morons try to do the things to create such doom scenarios on purpose. The combination of trying to make AI self-aware while weaponizing it could be dangerous.
An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

As a person who can't drive I look forward to the day when self driving vehicles are perfected. Until that day comes though the companies that make these vehicles must be accountable for any injuries or deaths caused from crashes of their cars and pay all medical bills or possible damages.

Stunning AI shows how it would kill 90%. w Elon Musk.

On the comparison of AI, Consciousness and brain waves, I asked ChatGPT if ai has a similar system of brainwaves to humans.
It replied:
Artificial intelligence (AI) systems, such as deep learning models, do not possess a biological brain like humans do, so they do not generate brainwaves in the same way. Brainwaves are a result of the complex interactions between neurons in the human brain.
However, AI systems can simulate certain aspects of brain-like activity. For example, in deep learning models, artificial neural networks (ANNs) are used to process information and make predictions or decisions. ANNs are inspired by the structure and functioning of biological neural networks in the brain. They consist of interconnected artificial neurons that transmit and process information through weighted connections.
While AI systems do not generate brainwaves, they can exhibit patterns of activity that are analogous to brainwaves in humans. For instance, during the training process of an AI model, the activation levels of artificial neurons can change over time as the model learns to recognize patterns in the data. These changes in activation levels can be seen as analogous to the dynamic patterns of electrical activity observed in brainwaves.
It's worth noting that the comparison between AI activity and brainwaves is a metaphorical one, as AI systems lack consciousness or subjective experience. Brainwaves are associated with specific mental states and activities in humans, whereas AI systems process data and perform computations based on programmed algorithms.
New Jersey high school students accused of making AI-generated pornographic images of classmates

WESTFIELD, N.J. -- Parents and students at Westfield High School in New Jersey say students used an app or website to make AI-generated pornographic images of their classmates.
Parents recently got an email from the principal, warning of the dangers of artificial intelligence and saying the complaints from students had sparked an investigation. Some parents turned to the Westfield Police Department.
Dorota Mani, who owns a Jersey City day care, was already worried about the impact artificial intelligence could have on kids.
"AI problem. I would call it 'AI pandemic' at this point," she said.

Has anyone considered the vast type of posts at Reddit? Social media platforms have posts that are across the board. What type of stuff will A.I be learning?
Article Gizmodo: Google Will Scrape Reddit Communities For AI Parts in $60 Million Deal.
Article at AP: Reddit strikes $60M deal allowing Google to train AI models on its posts, unveils IPO plans.
Article The Hill: Reddit gives Google access to content for training AI models.
Well, this AI creation is very interesting!!! (unfortunately, this maybe closer to the truth then hoped!)
