A few of my favorites from these proceedings were Mr Gursch (DOD/CIA Spook?), and of course retired Navy man F18 carrier pilot; Mr Fravor. And Ryan Graves.

Much attention has been paid recently to one Mr Barber,
It should be noted he was never a "sworn under penalty
    of purjury" congressional witness.
If we add Mr Barber (Team leader, black OPs, Disk retviavel?) to our discussion it will be as a POD cast talk show particapent offering his support to actual testimony.

    Calikid,

It's a long post. Figured you'd enjoy reading it, and get a few chuckles...

Since childhood, I've had an interest in Alien Life and UFO (now UAP). My family has joked the first words I spoke as a baby was "Aliens"...

Some early childhood memories stay with us...

Around five years old (roughly 1962), I built a large rectangle with Tinker Toys and airplane type of steering wheel to sit inside of. My mother thought it was a car... I told it was a spaceship. In kindergarten the teacher said I would argue with her. She was using a stick pointer and going over a color chart that was posted above the chalkboard and going over the colors. Of course, I had to raised my and blurted, "There are some colors missing. There's colors in outer space you haven't seen yet."

In grade school, I sat backseat nearest the window. Always staring out the windows, looking at clouds and wondering if there was a spaceship hiding. Teacher come-by, "Oh you're having a difficult time focusing. Maybe it's time for your afternoon douse of medication." Ritalin... State University used me as part of a "study group" to learn the sideeffects of Ritalin on children. Those pills were huge! Tringle shaped. 900mm three times daily... Morning, Afternoon and Evening... I'm think it was 5th or 6th grade, maybe part of each school year. Not sure.

Had UFO Sightings as child and teenager. One of the sightings, three people were with me. I wrote something about it on the Outpost Forum, click here to read.

Pre internet... Few books and articles on the topics. As a child shows like Star Trek, Lost in Space and Time Tunnel kept me going, along with a few outer space based cartoons... There were classic films out there...

Late 1960s into the mid-1970s, from time to time I was able to talk with people about my interest in space ships, other worlds and alien life. Lot of them were Christians, yet they were open to the idea of it. Often they'd make another biblical references. The New Jerusalem was a city in space, and on its way here to our solar system. Another biblical reference "that we look through a dark glass", and upon joining Christ in the heavens and or His return that we'd see clearly. They never ruled-out the possibility of life on other planets.

Some of those people were similar to Christian Hippies without the long hair. Two of them were University / College Students from Chicago IL Area. They were with me for that 1971 UFO Sighting. In the days that followed, I think they mentioned that 1947 Roswell New Mexico UFO crash and recovery. This was early 1970s... I heard rumor they had taken part in the anti war protests at Kent State that involved the National Guard. It wasn't something they talked about. When Kent State was mentioned, they changed the subject...Where they at Kent State? I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me.

It's crazy how often I've heard... No one was talking about Roswell before the 1980s. They think that no one knew about the 1947 UFO Crash near Roswell before the 1980s.

In 1947, it was in the news papers and television news for a few days. Yes, soon-after it was kept out of the Press... But people did talk about it... Back in the Day, "Word of Mouth" was something. While I don't recall anything off the top of my head, from time to time there were books and articles on it. It simply didn't get a lot of media attention.

    MJ-12 is an interesting topic.

My entire life, I've had a keen interest in UFOs, alien life and space travel.

It's interesting studying the comings and goings of people in the field of Ufology. Lot of hoaxters have come and gone.

U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Accountability is different. I assume that people testifying are under oath. That is a major shift toward Disclosure.

When Disclosure happens, it will likely be partial, and laced with lies and deceit. We must question it. Are they telling us everything? Are they telling us their version of it, and attempting to deceive us? We should always question the narrative. Who is telling it, and why are they telling it? Is there a long-game that people testifying are not aware of?

A Top Secret Security Clearance within the military is not taken lightly... The fact they are testifying before Committees means something. It's possible they were given prior authorization to speak on the matter.

If Disclosure is partial and laced with deceit, it is a step in the right direction.

Again, it was a long post... I figured you'd enjoy it..

    .Thanks for sharing Casper.
We must be about the same age.

Many similar memories only I never had benefits of ritilan until university.
We called them black beauties or 30/30s.
Definate requirment when staying up all night for a Organic Chem or Human Anatomy or Dif Calculas or Physics etc. class finals.
Also back in the 1970s. Dark Side of the Moon came out about then. And The Exercist drove folks back to Church. "Your mother sucks sausages in he!!"

I do recall reading about Jessie Marcel. Stan Friedman broke that story in 1978.

Earlier, while in elementry, I recall Betty and Barney Hill
were front page news in our local paper mid 1960s.

Around that same time "The Flatwoods Monster" was on
the cover (artist rendition) of a UFO Magazine at my favorite comic book stand,

Seems i was more drawn to UFOs by media.
Avid Star Trek viewer. Never missed an episode.
From original run first epidode to final season.

A bit later I Began reading
Fate magazine and Fortian times books.

I read about Parapsychologist and the research they did.
A degree was offered at Princeton University (only), I seriously investigated enrollment. But got sIde tracked by life.
This was some 20 years before Ghostbusters hit the screen.

Took a local in-person lecture by Stan Friedman (at the local university, 1980s) to knock me off the fence.
    Found his evidence compelling.

Have always been most interested in saucer "nuts and bolts".
Know my limits. Assist others more expert on experiencer topics.

    Onto more on-topic posts!

Listening to Mr Gursch, sitting before the congresional committee giving sworn testimoney, made my jaw drop.

All these years researching and digging and interviewing witnesses. Decades of work.
    Laid open by Mr Gursch.

A Military offical before congress speaking on UAP/UFOs without using the term "cannot confiirm or deny" is my idea of a positive breakthrough !

I was not sure I'd live to see the day.
    I am HAPPY!

The Pilots were important too, but I'll save them for a seperate post.

A few quotes I'm hoping to see confirmed.

Good time to revisit the origins of the term "UAP".
    .
Thinking I may be the only living person who read all pages released by the British National Archives back in the day.
You might remember blocks of ufo reports were bundled by date and released to the public,

    Example January 1,1980 to Dec 31, 1985. 500 pages.
Several blocks were released every few months.

Found a show stopper half way thru.
There was a goofy cartoon hand drawn by someone with TS clearance.
Funny little UFO with an alien that looked like an elf to me. (Page margins)
Kind of a "Haha moment" about all the stupid ufo researchers?

The page addressed adoption of the new term, UAP.
This claim would help battle all the FOIA requests for UFO reports!
    "Got a ufo report?"
"Nope. Nothing like that in our archives",
Meanwhile. Lots of valid UAP reports were NOT being delivered to legatimate researchers
    . Bold test
As I have thought about this over the years, I wonder if it doesn't seperate items consitered (UAP) for disclosure, a group NOT subject to disclosure (UFO). Older/messy times.

Whatever the reason we are left with a definate delination.

Agreed, the change from UFO to UAP was done to partly slow-down people requesting files and independent research.
