"The world holds its breath, hoping for the best after six days of radio silence from Antarctica -- where a team of Russian scientists is racing the clock and the oncoming winter to dig to an alien lake far beneath the ice.

The team from Russia's Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI) have been drilling for weeks in an effort to reach isolated Lake Vostok, a vast, dark body of water hidden 13,000 ft. below the surface of the icy continent. Lake Vostok hasn't been exposed to air in more than 20 million years."

Scientists Seeking Lake Vostok Not Lost, Discover Ancient Antarctic Lake

"A group of Russian scientists in Antarctica has succeeded in drilling to a lake buried two miles beneath the icy landmass, the state-run Russian news service Ria Novosti reported — following a week of radio silence from the team that had some scratching their heads.

“Yesterday, our scientists stopped drilling at the depth of 3,768 meters and reached the surface of the sub-glacial lake,” the source reportedly said in a story posted Monday, Feb. 6.
“If they were successful, their efforts will transform the way we do science in Antarctica and provide us with an entirely new view of what exists under the vast Antarctic ice sheet,” John Priscu, a microbiologist with Montana State University, told FoxNews.com.

There have been much-disputed hints that life might still exist down there. If so, that would give a great boost to hopes of finding life in similar conditions in icy water on one of the moons of Jupiter."

On the Hot 100 Short List, the battle of words continues to rage. Some Highlights:

Elaine Douglass adds a note of caution:

"Oh, it’s certainly possible ETs were here in the past, but I’m not going to accept it as a fact until human science reaches that conclusion—which would be possible only in a post-disclosure environment.

Every abductee I know has been told by the aliens that they were here in the past, not only here but that they, the ETs, created the human race. And not only created the human race, but that many of the heros of human culture, such as Jesus Chris t, were really aliens. And from there it flows ever-so-nicely to the conclusion that they have returned to “tend their garden,” and we are their “property,” and they’re re-engineering us cause we didn’t work out well, etc., etc.

No, I’m not going there unless human scientists tell me they have evidence of alien tampering in human biological history.

Elaine Douglass"

Michael Horn, Billy Meier's U.S. Representative, thinks the whole thing is silly and opts out with his accustomed charm:

"Please REMOVE me from this imbecilic thread. This person babbles about not accepting that ETs were here in the past "until human science reaches that conclusion - and then goes on to talk about "every abductee" she knows!

Since "human science" has not "reached the conclusion" that there actually are "alien abductions", it's obvious that this whole disinformation campaign has so affected the soft brains of the gullible "true believers" that they are completely oblivious to the truly real and important circumstances of life in our world.

Simpletons and dopes who have made an industry out of UFOs and "aliens" and are dumb and blind to the truth.

Steve Hammons recalls an earlier mention that he considers to support the ancient alien theory:

"And then there was the account, provided via Victor Martinez from alleged DIA-6 sources in 2008, that an alien craft was recovered that dated back to 150 million years ago.

According to the report:

“The object was believed to be an alien spacecraft that had crashed approximately 200 million years ago according to the archaeological team. The site subsequently was examined by a USAF recovery team, which then put the age of the alien craft at approximately 150 million years ago.”
“The alien craft itself was 45 feet in diameter,” the sources continued. “The craft was transported to the State of [redacted] and then to the giant [redacted] lab complex in [redacted] and opened.”

“The alien craft contained two highly decomposed alien bodies and decayed animals, which were apparently abducted by these alien beings. The animals were small dinosaurs on board the alien craft.”

Robert Morningstar tries to get everyone back on topic and offers a poem?

May I take a moment to redirect this thread back to the subject/subtopic of Lake Vostok and the Rusky breakthrough into the lake?

My prediction in an "Ogden Nashtic" poem

"Ode To the Russians-> Ringing in 'The Thing' "

When the Vostok pond scum comes to the top,
and they slip in through the slime, and the slop

They'll see algae blooms...amoebae booms

Then the Ruskies will find in heaps, loads

of blind,

white ...

microscopic ...

nematodes.

Any second opinions...
among this email minion?

M*...is...for "Monster"

And he adds a final flourish referring to a side argument between Capt Collins and Elaine Douglass:

But what if we don't like "plain English"...??

On a side note: Brazil lost their station, all of their research and 2 lives today when their Antartic base went up in flames.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-17168526

The Brazilian navy says it has recovered the bodies of two of its members from the debris of a Brazilian research station in the Antarctic.
The Comandante Ferraz base near the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula was destroyed by an explosion on Saturday.
Officials said the blast was caused by a fire which raged through the base, where marine research work is carried out.
A third member of the navy injured in the fire is in a stable condition.
I wonder if they had discovered anything special.

Like I said earlier, I do not trust that what they find will be harmless to our modern environment.
This isn't poetry, this is the language of reality.

Thanks for that, Doc. It will be interesting to find out what caused it (if the Brazilian government releases that information). With a fire as devestating as that one, I tend to wonder if sabotage was involved, especially when there are so many discoveries being made in Antartica.
