A 2.0 earthquake shook New Jersey this morning. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/1...m_hp_ref=green

RINGWOOD, N.J. -- Some residents in northern New Jersey awoke to a small earthquake early Monday.
The temblor, with a magnitude of 2.0, struck at 1:19 a.m. and was centered in Ringwood, a community that's still dealing with downed trees and power outages from Sandy.

    From the Ether:

"There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, "Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?"
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: "Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water... <snip>

from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and
From their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?"
You could have heard a pin drop."

'It has begun'. I posted an article yesterday showing historical evidence of a solar eclipse window which begins 14 days prior to the event, and 14 after. In an upcoming article, I will describe what the possible reasons would be for a solar eclipse to set off earthquakes and volcanoes.

Thirty-nine people have been killed and many more are missing after a 7.4-magnitude quake hit off the Guatemala's Pacific coast. The director of Guatemala's Seismological Institute, Eddy Sanchez, said it had been the biggest tremor in Guatemala since 1976, when 25,000 people died in 7.5-magnitude quake.

Guatemala President Otto Perez Molina, declared a national alert and advised people to evacuate tall buildings as a precaution. Officials said landslides had buried roads and it would take 24 hours to restore links to the quake-hit area.

Frightened people fled from offices and homes around the region, as buildings shook from Mexico City to San Salvador. Quake officials said the tremor hit at about 10:35 local time (16:35 GMT) about 23km (15 miles) from the Guatemalan town of Champerico.

President Perez Molina has given several news conferences, each time raising the number of casualties. He was touring the affected area and said 39 deaths had now been confirmed in what he called a tragedy - and 100 people were missing and 155 injured.

The national voluntary fire service gave details on its Twitter feed of the damage across the San Marcos region, describing how firefighters had pulled five bodies from the rubble, including that of an 11-year-old boy.

Fourteen houses have been destroyed in Quetzaltenango, a city that houses dozens of language schools popular with tourists. Shelters have been opened for those whose homes have been destroyed.

    And another large one:

by Mitch Battros - Earth Changes Media

This is deadly serious. The Cascadia Suduction Zone is susceptible to mega-quake measuring 9.0+ - and it is over due in its 300 year cycle. This is not a "warning" but an "alert". A Warning means it is inevitable - an Alert means it is between likely.

No tsunami warning has been issued. The magnitude 6.3 quake hit just off the coast of Vancouver, British Columbia which sits at the northern end of the Cascadia Subduction Zone. There are no reports of damage or injuries at this time.

This furthers evidence of a solar-eclipse-earthquake-volcano concurrence which historically indicates a pattern of opportunity 14 days prior to the eclipse, and/or 14 days after the eclipse. I am going on record to suggest there will be more within the next 5 days.

    Here are the stats:

Thursday, November 08, 2012 at 02:01:51 UTC. Wednesday, November 07, 2012 at 06:01:51 PM at epicenter Time of Earthquake in other Time Zones.

Location: 49.185°N, 128.528°W - Depth: 16.6 km (10.3 miles) - Region: Vancouver Island, Canada - Distances: 186 km (115 miles) SSW of Port Hardy, Canada, 255 km (158 miles) WSW of Campbell River, Canada, 262 km (162 miles) W of Courtenay, Canada, 271 km (168 miles) W of Port Alberni, Canada.

    Here is some history:

The 1700 Cascadia Subduction Zone quake was a megathrust 9.1+ earthquake that occurred on January 26, 1700. The earthquake involved the Juan de Fuca Plate underlying the Pacific Ocean, from mid-Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, south along the Pacific Northwest coast as far as northern California, USA. The length of the fault rupture was about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) with an average slip of 20 meters (22 yards).

The map on my Earthquake Alert app looks scary. It shows quakes of various magnitudes all along the west coast, from Alaska down to South America.

Yes, on Facebook people are reporting a 6.4 quake just off the coast of Vancouver, about an hour ago.

That can't be very far from the 7.7 quake (and aftershocks) off of Queen Charlotte Island that occurred last week.

There have also been small earthquakes recently in Southeast Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee and Oklahoma. I wonder if large and frequent quakes on the west coast can activate the New Madrid fault in the Central US.

    Lot of earthquakes going on.

Here is something to consider, the aftermath of Sandy.

The former United States had less than 200 deaths as a result of the storm. When similar storms strike other countries, death tolls are much higher and response time and clean-up much longer.

Relief agencies staged food, bottled water and other necessities ahead of the incoming storm.

Basic utilities restored a much faster rate than many other countries.

Wonder if the former U. S. is prepared for lengthy draught?

With respect to the earthquakes I check this site daily:http://www.iris.edu/dms/seismon.htm

You can hit the "refresh button" (F5) after it loads to see a complete cycle.

Note the ages in the color code.

As one can see, there has been a lot of activity the last two weeks many 4+'s...
